Entry switching
3-way and 4-way switching at each entry — man door, roll-up door, packing room and office side — with occupancy-sensor switches for automatic shutoff in line with NEC and IECC requirements.
Warehouse lighting & electrical in Austin
Bailey & Bear Construction upgrades lighting and power in existing Austin warehouses: removing fluorescent strips and dead housings, installing LED UFO high-bays, adding occupancy-sensor switching at entries, exit and egress lights, LED wall packs and yard floods, and dedicated circuits for mini splits, unit heaters and overhead door operators. Licensed electrical work is performed by licensed trade professionals under Bailey & Bear's coordination.
Older warehouses often run a mix of fluorescent strips, small panels and fixtures that no longer work. We remove them and furnish and install LED UFO high-bays, typically 150W fixtures in the 21,000-lumen range at 5000K, laid out on center to light the floor evenly at the building's mounting height, then re-hang, secure and circuit every fixture. A scissor or boom lift is part of the scope for high work. Brighter, more even light improves picking accuracy and safety and cuts the hours spent replacing tubes.

Combination LED exit sign / egress light units with battery backup at egress doors.
LED full-cutoff wall packs with photocells at doors and corners, replacing old fixtures.
LED yard floods on dusk-to-dawn control, and yard pole lighting with base, trenching, pole and LED head as an add.
Dedicated 208/230V circuits for mini split heat pumps, electric unit heaters, overhead door operators and packing equipment.
If the existing panel is full, outdated or cannot carry new loads, a new main panel or 100–200A subpanel near the work, with feeders, breakers and labeling, is scoped as its own line after an electrician's evaluation.
LED fixtures reduce lighting load, but a warehouse upgrade usually adds other equipment at the same time: a mini split for a packing room, a unit heater for freeze protection, motor operators on overhead doors. Building voltage and panel capacity are verified before equipment is ordered so the right 208V or 230V equipment arrives. Utility service, meter and transformer upgrades are coordinated with the utility and are outside our scope. For larger service and distribution work see commercial electrical.
It depends on mounting height, floor area, racking and the work being done. As a starting point, fixtures are laid out on center to light the floor evenly at the building's mounting height; we confirm the count and spacing at the walkthrough.
Energy codes generally require automatic shutoff controls for commercial lighting. We install occupancy-sensor switches at entries along with 3-way and 4-way switching so lights are easy to control and turn off when the space is empty.
Yes. We install combination LED exit sign and egress light units with battery backup at egress doors as part of warehouse safety upgrades.
Not always. If the existing panel is full, outdated or cannot carry new loads like a mini split, heater and door operators, a new panel or subpanel is priced separately after an electrician's evaluation.
Lighting usually pairs with a full warehouse renovation, mini split HVAC, parking lot paving and striping or a warehouse buildout.
